A place for education
It is on an old agricultural estate ten minutes from Geneva that we can find the campus of Eden School. The estate was an old farmhouse and stables that were completely restored and transformed to reflect the teaching philosophy promoted at Eden School: the setting offers the children a friendly and welcoming environment.
Surrounded entirely by a tree-filled courtyard, the school has real quality at its fingertips: classrooms are stocked with the latest educational technologies, an open teachers’ office that allows continual communication between children and staff, workshop spaces, a library and a canteen.
The spirit of the teaching is reflected in the design of the workspaces themselves: the rooms are bright, transparent and adaptable in a way that affords great flexibility in teaching. A reading corner becomes an amphitheatre; a round, group-work table is re-assembled as a private, personal workspace. Eden School uses these progressive learning spaces as if the teaching itself were dictated by the rhythms of the children.
