Christine Del Notaro has been teaching at the University of Geneva in the field of mathematics didactics for more than twenty years and trains future primary teachers in this field. She is continuing her research work on the constitution of students’ knowledge in the field of numbers by means of a doctoral thesis.
For several years, Christine Del Notaro has been involved at Ecole Eden, helping teachers to perfect their training in mathematics, particularly in the field of open problems.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to discover the passion that your children feel when they are “in the shoes of a mathematician”, take ownership of a problem, have fun searching, make sense of their explorations, and share their findings.
During this workshop, you will :
– Discuss an open-ended problem, first putting yourself in a situation to solve it.
– Consider the benefits of math on your child’s intellectual development.
– Share possible questions.
