As many of you know, the teachers at our school form an exceptional team of which we can be proud; for more than 8 years, all of our employees have been trained internally in an educational approach associated with tools called Jane Nelsen’s Positive Discipline (PD). PD is the fundamental pillar of our teaching, which, anchored in an active and differentiated pedagogy, develops in each child not only the academic fundamentals, but also feelings of belonging and importance, cooperation as well as individual and collective responsibility.
After all these years, the Eden team has observed a beneficial and constructive triangular relationship with the families whose parents were able to participate in the Positive Discipline workshops. These parents, like their children, have created new bonds, based on encouragement, which are particularly constructive for the child on both a social-emotional and educational level.
This reflection inspired us to plan a parent-child weekend that will take place on September 24 and 25, 2022. The parents will have two days of training and the children will participate in some PD activities and will be taken care of the rest of the time by our team. Another PD day will follow on Saturday, January 14, 2023 to go deeper.
This 3-day training will be facilitated primarily by external speakers who are experts in this field and have years of experience training teachers and parents.
